Pickup and Return Policy

Tool-to-Fix facilitates tool rentals through in-person exchanges between Users. This Pickup and Return Policy outlines expectations and best practices for Borrowers and Lenders during the tool handoff and return process. By using Tool-to-Fix, you agree to follow these guidelines.
1. No Shipping Policy
Tool-to-Fix does not support shipping or delivery of tools at this time. All exchanges must be arranged in person, at a mutually agreed location and time.
2. Pickup Process
Responsibilities of the Borrower:
- Arrive on time at the agreed location.
- Inspect the tool for any visible damage or defects.
- Clarify usage instructions if unsure before accepting the tool.
Responsibilities of the Lender:
- Ensure the tool is ready, functional, and in safe working condition.
- Be present at the arranged location and time.
- Provide a brief handover explanation if necessary.
3. Return Process
Responsibilities of the Borrower:
- Return the tool on time and in the same condition as it was received.
- Report any issues, malfunctions, or accidental damage to the Lender immediately.
- Clean the tool if agreed upon during the rental arrangement.
Responsibilities of the Lender:
- Be available to receive the tool at the agreed time.
- Inspect the tool upon return and raise any concerns directly with the Borrower.
- Keep a record of the condition if needed for future reference.
4. Late Pickups or Returns
As Tool-to-Fix is currently in a pilot phase, we do not impose platform-enforced penalties for delays. However:
- Borrowers and Lenders are expected to communicate promptly in case of delays.
- Repeated no-shows or significant delays may be recorded and may affect account trust or visibility on the platform in the future.
- Any penalties, deposits, or fines must be agreed upon privately between Users in advance.
5. Dispute Handling
Tool-to-Fix does not currently mediate or enforce outcomes for issues related to tool exchanges. However, Users may report repeated problems or patterns of irresponsible behavior to support@tooltofix.com, and we may take community-based actions such as warnings or account reviews.
